The Front Steps Project
I will update the amount that has been donated as they start coming in! As off 4/9/2020 we have sent 60 meals through Blackbird Cafe for Emerson Hospital staff.
THANK YOU TO CARA SOULIA FOR STARTING THIS AMAZING IDEA.
SHE HAS ALLOWED PHOTOGRAPHERS ALL OVER THE US TO ADOPT THE IDEA AND DONATE TO THEIR PREFERRED ORGANIZATIONS.
WHOA, DOESN’T IT FEEL LIKE OUR WHOLE WORLD HAS BEEN CHANGED IN A BLINK OF AN EYE?
But here we are more aware than ever, keeping our social distance in our town of Littleton and doing what we need to do to flatten the curve. We’ve sung Happy Birthday to my brother via video, we’ve talked to family in Puerto Rico as much as possible.
It’s different, yet I feel it has united us in different ways!
One of my pleasures in life, is that I get to capture babies being brought to the hands of their parents, newborns in their homes and families in general, but right now, I can’t do any of that! So when I saw this amazing initiative I thought “I have to do this”.
Like everyone, Littleton residents are doing their part to STAY AT HOME!
Starting today, I am offering to take five minute Front Step Images for Littleton Residents (if you are in the surrounding towns, feel free to reach out as well). I will be taking 2 hours each day to take a few fast images of Littleton families on their front steps.
We will stay in constant communication via email, text, facebook and you will know when I am heading your way. You’ll step outside and I’ll be close to your driveway or street. I will keep at least a 10 feet distance and I will basically have no interaction with anyone or touch anything. I’ll definitely say “hiiiii” and “bye” and will share a few smiles! These will last about 5 minutes
After the 5 minute snaps, I will email you 1-3 digital images. In exchange, I am asking you to make a good faith donation using the following link. The amount suggested is $50.
75% of the donations will be provided to Emerson Hospital in order to support their amazing efforts to keep our communities healthy and the staff during these times.
If you prefer, you can also send a straight donation to Emerson Hospital or place an order through BlackBird Cafe to send meals to Emerson employees. If you do, please let me know you have donated to them directly so I can reflect it in the total!
Anything is helpful!
I will be posting these images on Facebook and/or Instagram using the hashtag #thefrontstepsproject. feel free to share the images and spread the word!!!
In participating in this project along other amazing photographers I am hoping to bring a sense of community and togetherness even though we may feel isolated at this moment. I want us to have some memories about this time to look back on!
